KKDT are in partnership with D&G Council’s Employability and Skill’s Service to take on local people to consult with parents around our area on the challenges they face. It is important that our approach to research is inclusive and covers all people by having local people carry out these conversations within the community. Another key part of inclusivity is diversity among those who are involved, including; mums, dads, young parents, ethnic minorities, transgender parents, single parents, parents of disabled children, and so on.
Community Consultants could be parents who are representative of a particular group of parents and who have the time to commit to training and carrying out the consultations/conversations. Alternatively, they may be other people in the community (not necessarily parents) who have access to parents, via their knowledge of the community and existing networks, and who have the time and ability to support us in this exercise.
This exercise will allow us to make crucial change in our area by better understanding obstacles and limitations for local parents. This research can change how our village operates and improve services for the benefit of people living in and/or facing poverty.
All details of the Community Consultants/research is listed below, as well as how to get in touch if you are interested.
